Get to know Milo
Name: Milo
Date of Birth: 1st June 2015
Age: 10
Breed: Unknown
Gender: Male
Personality:
Milo is proud, poised, and very much his own cat. He’s affectionate on his terms, happy to soak up fuss when he’s in the mood, but he’ll let you know when he’s had enough. Boundaries matter, and he makes sure they’re respected.
Eye Colour:
He started off with striking blue eyes, but over time they’ve changed to a beautiful shade of green, just another reminder that he’s always evolving, in the most mysterious feline way.
Fur Colour:
A soft and striking mix of white and deep grey, as stylish as it is fluffy.
Likes:
Milo has a playful, mischievous side, but only when it suits him. He values his own space, adores my dad, and absolutely loves his treats. Watching the world go by from outside (with his humans close by) is one of his favourite pastimes.
Signature Features:
That luxuriously long fur and it’s impossible not to admire.
Dislikes:
He’s not a lap cat, doesn’t enjoy being picked up, and brushing his tummy? Not happening. Ever.
The Day We Met Milo
Back in 2015, we were looking to welcome another cat into our home. We visited rescue centres and met cats in people’s homes, still exploring our options and keeping our hearts open. Then came August and everything changed.
We went to visit a breeder who had two kittens left from a litter. As we played with them, I connected instantly with one of the brothers. My dad said we’d think about it and talk things over, but once we got in the car, I couldn’t stop crying. I was young, emotional, and already completely in love. My dad, probably knowing how much it meant to me, turned the car around. We went straight back and brought him home.
I can’t remember my mum’s exact reaction, but I’m pretty sure she was surprised, though not all that shocked. From the moment Milo arrived, he was already part of the family. We set his carrier in the kitchen and let him come out in his own time. He was shy at first, but with food, space and patience, he slowly began to show his personality.
Choosing a name was a group effort. My mum found a list of suggestions online and under “friendly” we spotted it – Milo. It just felt right. Over the next few days, he started to explore more, and we even tried little outdoor walks with him on a lead. Looking back, it was such a special time, full of firsts, cuddles, and tiny purrs.
Milo’s been with us ever since and now he truly runs the place.

Milo reminds me every day why cats matter. He’s more than just a pet, he’s the heart of my love for cats and the reason I’m passionate about protecting them. This page is a tribute to Milo and the joy, inspiration, and love he brings to my life.
